The Community Grants Program aims to support community initiatives that enhance the quality of life, heritage, recreation and cultural opportunities and provide long lasting benefits to the wider community. Grant funding is available for projects within the Educational, Recreational, Environmental and Social aspects of the community in which we operate.

Five $2000 grants will be provided four times per year. Based on a set of criteria, these grants must have a direct positive outcome for the local community, adding to a project in a positive and sustainable manner.

Advertising will be in the form of the local newspapers within the East Gippsland and Wellington area and will run for 3 consecutive weeks. Once closed the applications will be assessed and relevant information conveyed to successful and unsuccessful applicants.

The assessment of the grant applications will be decided by a committee. These assessments will be used to determine the final grants to be provided. A report will be provided to the Board on the closing of each grant period.

A progress report will be required by each grant recipient within three months of receipt of funds, followed by a final or completion report within six months.

Grants Criteria

• Be an organization that provides benefit to the broader community.
• The Project must be completed within six months of receipt of funds. This may be extended upon written approval from the committee should extenuating circumstances arise.
• Organizations must agree to expend grant monies only in accordance with the successful grant project application.
• The project must be based within the East Gippsland and Wellington communities.
• Applicants must detail how the project will be funded and delivered.
• All planning and/or building permits and any authorizations including public liability insurances associated with the project must be obtained. These details must be noted in the application.

Applying for Grants

Not for profit, sporting and recreational, and community organizations which are incorporated can submit an application for grant funding to Kalbar Operations using the Community Grants application form.

Organizations can submit only one application at a time and acknowledge that Kalbar Operations may not necessarily fund the whole of the requested grant, depending on evaluation of the application and the funds available
