Tender ID: 470855
Tender Details
Tender Description
Our mahi arises from the interRAI Service Review completed by Tenzing Management and Technology Consultants Limited (Tenzing) in 2020. (https://www.interrai.co.nz/news-and-media/service-design-report-published/). The Review recommended designing, developing and promoting nationally, a model culturally appropriate assessment approach ‘to address the broader issues that exist in the current assessment service delivery’. The recommendation aligns with Whakamaua: Māori Health Action Plan 2020-2025 and the 2020 Health and Disability
Review recommendations (https://www.systemreview.health.govt.nz/final-report) currently underway across the health sector.
The desired outcome we are seeking from this project is a sustainable and equitable assessment model that meets the needs of Māori and whānau. The assessment model will enable a holistic assessment of people’s needs that will inform provision of care and support services. We want to reduce variability across health regions in how the assessment is used with Māori yet allow for local refinement where required.
We need an approach that:
1. promotes equity of health outcomes through accurate information and data
2. is not siloed within agencies or assessment providers
3. weaves kaupapa Māori based approaches to strengthen the interRAI assessment and the needs assessment approach
4. strengthens the consistency of the current needs assessment processes and practices in the community and ARC.
