Tender Details
Tender Description
Kingston Arts wishes to engage an experienced artist to deliver ENVIRONMENTAL THEMED artworks to activate the existing brick walls located along the northern property boundary in the Horscroft Place Pocket Park in consultation with the local community. The treatment of the artwork could be anything from a painted mural to vinyl decals and wraps. Power onsite also cannot be guaranteed. Council has deliberately chosen not to be too descriptive and encouraged innovative design approach to the brief.
PROJECT BACKGROUND
Horscroft Place Pocket Park is a new park in Moorabbin that is due to be constructed from October this year, scheduled for completion by December 2021. With the assistance of State Government funding from DELWP (Department of Land, Water and Planning), Council acquired No. 2 Horscroft Place and demolished the old factory building, extending existing Healey Street Reserve to create a larger pocket park for the community.
The park is a highly used thoroughfare for cyclists and pedestrians traveling from the Moorabbin train station and Activity Centre through to the Moorabbin Reserve and residential streets beyond. There is an existing grassy area, garden bed planting and mature trees on site.
The proposed works include more tree planting and garden beds, an arbour with climbers at each entry, park furniture including a community picnic table, drinking fountain, bins, custom seats, park lighting and open grassy kickabout area.
This project is made possible through the support of the Victorian State Government and the Department of Land, Water, and Planning.
