We are seeking to develop a framework to elevate TGA’s focus on consumers in its day-to-day activities and to improve interaction with emerging stakeholders, including newly regulated medical device manufacturers.

Objectives:
- Increasing awareness of the role of the TGA as regulator of medical devices to ensure medical devices are safe and effective.
- To increase consumer connection to the TGA, fostering a two-way interaction to ensure that the public is aware of and understands TGA developed information that is relevant to them so that medical device related adverse events are reported by consumers to the TGA to assist the TGA with earlier detection of possible emerging issues.
- To increase awareness of the regulatory requirements for medical device manufacturers, particularly newly emerging groups who may not have much experience with the TGA.
- Develop better practice strategies to ensure a consumer-centric approach informs the day-to-day work of the TGA.
