Tender Description

The Project, of which the Works will form part, is known by the title stated in Appendix "A" Tender Data. This project is funded and approved by The Commonwealth of Australia, and initiated by the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (DAWE) and Parks Australia.

Jabiru is the main township in the World Heritage Listed Kakadu National Park. The town was built in 1982 to support the nearby Ranger Uranium Mine, which ceased operating in January 2021. There is a requirement to remediate or upgrade the existing residential dwellings and align with the Minimum Housing Standard.

DAWE and National Parks own 68 properties in Jabiru, and each property requires a certain amount of remediation work to bring it in line with the above mentioned standard. 13 properties have already been tendered as part of tender AU-987236, as listed on TenderLink and the remaining properties form part of these Works.

The project for the proposed remediation works is planned to commence in December 2021, with an anticipated completion date of first week of July 2022. All rooves identified in the table below are identified as asbestos containing rooves, to be replaced with a metal roof of a Custom Orb Profile.

The Principal (JLL) would like to advise the Tenderers that all ACMs are to be removed by a licensed asbestos removalist, and only licensed operators with an Environment Protection Licence can collect, transport and store asbestos. All ACMs are to be disposed of in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and Codes of Practice, and into an approved facility as at the time of this tender.
