Tender Description

This package is for the Civil, Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) and Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (ECI) installation for the underground infrastructure for the OZ Minerals Prominent Hill PHOX shaft sink project. The successful contractor will be required to supply all management, labour, supervision, equipment, services and minor materials, other than free issue materials for all underground construction, installation, temporary works, commissioning and acceptance testing of the project’s underground plant and equipment. This package of work will require a significant level of prior experience in underground mining installation and commissioning works.

Whilst the final scope is still to be determined the below works are likely to be installed under this package:

WBS 1320 – Shaft Bottom

• Hoisting system maintenance provisions;

• Tail rope changing facility;

• Shaft bottom sump, and

• Local water, power and communications services.

WBS 1325 – Midshaft

• Head rope changing facility mechanical equipment;

• Head rope changing facility steelwork (located outside the shaft) and concrete, and

• Local water, compressed air, power and communications services

WBS 1210 – Grizzly Area

• Grizzly dump stations and approach aprons on the production levels;

• Grizzly panels and supporting structures, and

• Local water, power and communications services.

WBS 1220 – Truck Loading Stations

• Ore pass bin and lining system;

• Truck loading chute infrastructure;

• Truck loading chute support structure and access platforms;

• Concrete pavement within loading stations;

• Services cuddy for truck loading chute hydraulic power pack and electrical infrastructure, and

• Local water, power and communications services.

WBS 1230 – Crushing Station

• Primary crusher, motor, starter and hydraulics;

• Fixed rock breaker;

• Maintenance workshop and overhead crane;

• Crusher tipple aprons;

• All concrete slabs and foundations;

• Support steelwork and access platforms;

• Maintenance facilities;

• Local ventilation equipment and ducting, and

• Local water, power and communications services.

Prominent Hill – PHOX Project

WBS 1240 – Loading Station

• Crushed ore bin and lining system;

• Loading station apron feeder and feed hopper;

• Loading station collection conveyor;

• Slew loading conveyor;

• Tramp removal system;

• Transfer chutes;

• All concrete slabs and plinths;

• All supporting steelwork and access platforms;

• Switch room and RMU/transformer cuddies, and

• Local water, power and communications services.

WBS 1720 – High Voltage (HV) Reticulation (11,000V/1000V Substations)

• Fixed plant substations inclusive of:

• Installation of 11kV Substation at the Winder Building to support the Hoist, Surface

Materials Handling and Underground Infrastructure.

• Installation of a Malu Deeps RMU Substation to facilitate distribution to mining

operations and enable a ring topology to be established to fixed infrastructure.

WBS 1740 – Communications and Control Systems – Underground

• Fibre optic backbone required to support fixed plant control and monitoring, CCTV, access control and voice communications, wireless communications, mining systems (i.e. remote and automated operating systems) and mine communications inclusive off:

• Backbone fibre cabling installed between main communications panels / cabinets.

• Communications panels / cabinets at strategic locations to enable termination of the main fibre network and facilitate connection of support services including corporate and PCS.

WBS 1700 – Underground Mine – Service & Utilities

• Compressed Air, compressor station and reticulation pipework

WBS 1710 – Underground Water Feed – Raw

• Raw Water pressure reducing stations and reticulation pipework

• Fire Water System fire water dam, pressure reducing stations and reticulation pipework

WBS 1712 – Underground Water Feed – Potable

• Potable Water pressure reducing stations and reticulation pipework

WBS 5110 – Building & Infrastructure Mining 7200 – Workshops/Crib rooms/Refuge Chambers/Service Bays

• RL9281 Workshop concrete, steelwork, services and fit out

• RL9281 Workshop Wash Bays / Oily Water Separator.

• RL9281 Workshop Crib rooms / muster point / fresh air base.

• RL9281 Workshop Refuge chambers.
