Tender Description

The oldest secondary school in Queensland, Ipswich Grammar School (IGS) is currently seeking Expressions of Interest from potential Principal Contractors to deliver the Great Hall Enhancement Project (GHEP). The GHEP is a construction project designed to enhance the function and aesthetics of the surrounding historical precinct and buildings, dating from 1863.

This iconic project involves the construction of the fully documented campus enhancement works including new stone paving over pedestrian areas and roads; retaining walls; structural landscaping; metalwork and balustrades, new services and services relocations; new lighting, power, drainage and irrigation; gardens, plantings and signage.

The project for IGS is a logistical challenge being in the heart of the school campus which provides access to a significant number of school buildings for both the school community and staff/students alike. The school is to remain fully operational throughout the works with safety and limited disruption a school priority.

The project is anticipated to involve several stages and be constructed over a period of 12 months.

A select list of contractors will be shortlisted from this EOI process. Expressions of Interest are to include the following information:

Recent (last 10 years) past experience in similar works including referees
Company Capability Statement including company details, organisational structure, relevant licencing and insurances
Key proposed Project Team members, their experience, proposed role on the project, and their level of project attendance.
A brief summary identifying some of the potential project challenges and how your project team will address them.

Contractors will be shortlisted for a tender period that will commence late January 2022. Shortlisted tenderers will receive further detailed project information and a campus tour during the tender period.
