Tender Description
The Western Australian Agriculture Authority (WAAA) through the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) seeks applications for the bulk up and marketing of a new variety of yellow serradella, SerraMax.
The variety (breeders code 87GEH72.1a) has been bred by DPIRD and is an early-flowering hard-seeded yellow serradella, well suited to acidic sands and sandy loams in low to medium rainfall areas.
WAAA has secured Part 1 provisional protection under the Plant Breeders Rights Act 1994 and anticipates the grant of plant breeder's rights for SerraMax in 2022.
Following the EoI process, DPIRD will negotiate a licence or licences with the successful party or parties.
