Yarriambiack Shire Council on behalf of Wimmera Mallee Tourism, are seeking a qualified consultant/s to undertake all works associated with carrying out the research, analysis, and strategic planning of Augmented & Virtual Reality experiences within the Wimmera Mallee Region that includes Buloke Shire, Yarriambiack Shire, Hindmarsh Shire, and West Wimmera Shire. The work shall include:
- A report detailing the analysis of current Augmented & Virtual Reality usage within the Wimmera Mallee Region and recommendations on how to improve augmented & virtual reality offerings within each shire plus the wider region. This includes, but not limited to, recommendations on how to leverage the technology to extend visitor length of stay and spend within the region.
- Inclusion of market research of current technology offerings and their expected longevity and useability that are available to Wimmera Mallee Tourism to meet ongoing tourism market expectations.
- Analysis of, and recommendations for, methods to monetise AR/VR/Mixed Reality installations (or associated advertising) to create an income stream allowing WMT to pay on going service costs and for future tourism development.
- Analysis of potential scope to include communities and local businesses in the creation and implementation of recommendations.
- A method of demonstrating measurable engagement and reach to target markets using the suggested technology.
This project also seeks to understand other technology that could potentially benefit Wimmera Mallee Tourism further than current Augmented/Virtual Reality offerings.
Wimmera Mallee Tourism has invested in Plattar technology to date to produce Augmented Reality outcomes at existing Silo Art through Creative Victoria funding. This has included QR codes on site and an app that can be downloaded for the experience.
This project is part of the “Mallee Silo Art Trail Program” being implemented with funding from the Flagship Tourism Infrastructure Projects grant from Regional Development Victoria.
The budget for this project is $50,000.
