he NSW EPA is executing a clean-up of flood debris program and is seeking suitable contractors to remove flood debris on NSW public land affected by the March 2021 flooding.

The objective is to establish a panel of suitably qualified contractors to undertake the clean-up works to remove and dispose of (or resource recover) flood debris from the March 2021 flood on public land across an initial 18 local council areas in NSW. Contractors can nominate the council areas they wish to operate in and the types of flood debris they are qualified to clean-up. The works will need to be completed in March to June 2022. Local contractors in the local council areas are encouraged to apply.

Services may include (but are not limited to):
(a) demolition and debris removal works;
(b) Hazardous waste assessment and removal;
(c) Sorting, disposal and/or processing and recycling of collected waste materials;
(d) Identification, testing and verification of materials that contain asbestos;
(e) Provision of services from appropriately licensed & qualified organisations for asbestos and industrial waste removal, and transport and disposal services for asbestos and industrial waste, in accordance with the Environmental Protection Act 1970 and the Work Health and Safety Act 2011;
(f) Removal of asbestos and/or industrial waste materials from locations as directed by Principal representatives and transport of materials in line with EPA requirements to a lawful place of disposal;
(g) Clean up of Sites affected by debris of items and rubbish (including but not limited to broken household items, vehicles, car bodies, general rubbish, carpets, metals, Styrofoam etc); and/or
(h) Any other Services incidental to or arising out of the Storm Event as may be specified or required by the Principal during the Term.
