The ONDC seeks to engage experienced data consulting firms who have the technical capability and capacity to assist the ONDC to deliver Data Inventories Pilot Projects in 15 Australian Government agencies during 2022-23, with an additional 20 agencies in 2023-24. This work is part of the Data Inventories Pilot Program (the Program) which aims to support agencies discover their data assets and deliver data inventories for 20 per cent of Australian Government agencies by the end of 2024.

The firm(s) engaged through this procurement will deliver a total staffing capacity of up to 15 experienced data consultants for deployment to agencies to support the discovery of their data assets. These data consultants will work as part of the ONDC team and be deployed to agencies based in Canberra. The data inventory undertaken in agencies will involve a combination of onsite (in-person) and remote working starting from April 2022 through to June 2023, with an option to extend to 2024.

ONDC has developed a consistent approach to document data assets across the Australian Government. This approach is being tested with three agencies, tailored to meet their goals. The firms engaged through this procurement will deliver data inventories using this tailored approach.
