Millovate is undertaking a market sounding process to gain an insight into the potential to plan and enable the development of innovative and diverse education offerings and life-long learning opportunities at The Mill at Moreton Bay.

Since the successful opening of the University of Sunshine Coast (USC) Moreton Bay’s world class campus at The Mill at Moreton Bay in 2020, strong growth in student numbers has prompted USC to proceed with its stage two development which is expected to deliver additional space for teaching, research, sporting and recreational facilities.

Millovate is looking to build on this initiative, to enhance The Mill at Moreton Bay vision of becoming a sustainable and inclusive mixed-use urban community by seeking innovative and diverse education offerings. Millovate is seeking to identify opportunities in education that will support life-long pathways from school to industry, create employment opportunities, and would benefit most from The Mill at Moreton Bay’s access to public transport services and unique amenities such as forests and lakes.

To gain market insight into the potential to deliver this vision, Millovate is undertaking an education market sounding from 28 February 2022 to 31 May 2022. Millovate is interested in working collaboratively with investors, developers, operators, and not-for-profit organisations who want to be part of something different, want to create a community at The Mill at Moreton Bay and drive the best outcomes for the residents of Moreton Bay. Participants must demonstrate the capability and capacity to develop innovative businesses, work with local business to grow local jobs and work with USC and other education providers to develop training education programs.

Development activities Millovate is considering include:

• Independent early childhood, primary and secondary schools
• Colleges and academies
• Special education
• Vocational education and training, and
• Innovative and diversified education services

Interested parties are to note that this is not a land sale. The transaction framework will involve a successful proponent entering into a development agreement with Millovate. Under this agreement the Proponent will be responsible for project delivery including all associated costs and risks. Long-term tenure will be granted to the proponent either by sale or lease of the land upon development completion.
