Overview

 
The primary mission of the project is to deliver ICT software, infrastructure and services to host cyber security capabilities in support of the Australian Cyber Security Centre’s (ACSC’s) cyber security mission.
 
The successful applicant will demonstrate an understanding of the ICT software development cycle and infrastructure testing with an emphasis on test planning, test analysis, test execution and outcome reporting. The person will have broad experience in testing complex integrated solutions comprising bespoke components with numerous system interfaces, including testing security use-cases. They will be comfortable operating as a hands-on Senior Test Analyst within an SAFe context using the Atlassian stack for test design, execution and reporting.
 
The successful applicant must be a motivated self-starter with strong technical abilities and initiative. They will operate as a peer in a high performing technical team, and require strong organisational skills and attention to detail, and be comfortable working in a dynamic and agile environment.
 
The Senior Test Analyst’s major responsibilities include:
 
• Conduct software development and integration testing where CI/CD technologies are employed.
• Conducting test analysis, test design, test execution and test reporting activities.
• Provide input and support to the Test Lead (e.g. to Test strategy/planning).
• Analyse and report on test activities and outcomes and raise, prioritise and manage defects.
• Identify test process improvements, and contribute to testing standards and definition of best practice.
• Communicate and report testing related risks and issues to the Test Lead.
• Take responsibility for the integrity of testing.
• Work under broad direction as a motivated, self-starter.
 
The ACSC has established collaboration and development platforms to support work to be undertaken remote from Canberra, as a result, candidates outside of Canberra will be considered.
 
Following the evaluation process, a suitable candidate will be required to undergo the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) to assess the individual’s suitability for employment with the ACSC, prior to commencing in the role.
 
Clearance: An active NV1 clearance will be required prior to engagement. Recruiters please note: Candidates who do not address the essential criteria are likely to be found unsuitable.
 
Note: An Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) is a mandatory requirement for contracted staff working in ASD. Before submitting an application for this position, the applicant must have considered their preparedness for questions that may include the following topics: personal relationships, living circumstances, personal values, financial situation, physical and mental health history including substance use, and any civil and/or military record. OSAs are conducted to determine suitability to work in a high security environment. All employees must obtain and maintain the required security clearance to work in ASD.
