Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) is the statutory authority responsible for promoting and controlling the greyhound sport throughout Victoria created by the Racing Act 1958 to fulfil the dual role of regulating the industry and expanding the industry.

GRV has the task of ensuring that industry participants fully understand their responsibilities in relation to the greyhounds they own and train. They support and encourage continual improvement of training and husbandry techniques through research and education and are committed to the ongoing welfare of greyhounds throughout their racing careers and into retirement.

The Sale Greyhound Racing Track dates back to 1935 and is one of Australia's biggest and most profitable regional greyhound racing clubs and a significant regional employer and market for local suppliers. It is also a popular venue for social and business events and provides meeting facilities for many local groups.

The Sale Greyhound Racing Track is 36 years old with a hard transition turn placing undue dynamic stress on dogs, a major animal welfare issue. Since 2018 greyhound racing has experienced significant disruption in the Gippsland region due to the shutdown and redevelopment of the Traralgon track.

With the track aging, significant deficiencies were identified through the audit, making the site unsafe and at risk of sudden shutdown. The site, at a minimum, requires a new rail and battery lure solution, upgraded drainage, replacement of dilapidated fencing and movement of lighting poles to accommodate the newly designed track and upgrading of lights to LED.

The site is landlocked and significantly constrained and as such the adjustments to the track itself is minimal. This project is for the like for like upgrading of existing track on the existing site.

GRV is seeking a Lead Contractor to manage and carry out the works however it will accept tenders from suppliers to address one or more of the individual categories listed below:
