ABOUT THE COUNCIL:
Stretching from Palm Beach to Manly, the Northern Beaches boasts more than half of all the beaches in Sydney and a population of more than 266,000. The Council is committed to maintaining a high level of customer service to the local community.
Northern Beaches Council is working closely with the community to build strategies that enhance our quality of life, promote sustainable development and protect our environment.
SERVICE REQUIRED:
The works include; the construction of a link trail approximately 433 metres long, consisting of a boardwalk traversing through the bushland with a short section of coloured concrete footpath.
The works are located along the southern and western foreshores of Manly Dam; and upon completion, the link trail will allow pedestrians to safely transverse the foreshore without needing to use the existing Sir Roden Cutler Memorial Drive.
The proposed link trail works generally include, but not limited to, the following:
Environmental protection measures to retain and protect trees, shrubs, grasses and groundcovers within and adjacent the construction corridor;
Environmental protection measures to retain and protect sandstone outcrops within and adjacent the construction corridor;
Environmental protection measures to protect animals, birds and fauna generally to the site and the site surrounds;
Awareness of Aboriginal Heritage Induction requirements and Aboriginal Site Control Measures if Aboriginal sensitive heritage items are uncovered;
Setout and maintain a 4m wide construction corridor;
Install and maintain sediment and erosion control protection measures;
Selective removal of native shrubs and small trees within the construction corridor;
Supply and installation of a 2m wide fibre reinforced plastic (FRP) boardwalk with hot dipped galvanised steel subfloor and posts into earthen subgrade and/or drilled into sandstone;
Supply and installation of galvanised balusters with stainless steel handrails as required along the boardwalk;
Construction of a stepped viewing platform with seating and timber stairs;
Relocation and provision of new picnic facilities;
Coloured concrete footpath on grade;
Stair construction; and
New landscaping, weed removal plus monitoring and undertake revegetation work as necessary.

Site briefing and site inspection will be held on Wednesday 16th November 2022 at 10:00am, meeting at Section 2 Picnic Area, Manly Warringah War Memorial State Park (Manly Dam), King Street, Manly Vale NSW 2093..
LODGEMENT:
Submissions should be lodged in the electronic tender box or in the physical tender box at Northern Beaches Council, Civic Centre, 725 Pittwater Road, Dee Why, NSW 2099 by the time and date nominated. Late submissions may not be accepted.
