ABOUT THE COUNCIL:

Stretching from Palm Beach to Manly, the Northern Beaches boasts more than half of all the beaches in Sydney and a population of more than 266,000. The Council is committed to maintaining a high level of customer service to the local community.

Northern Beaches Council is working closely with the community to build strategies that enhance our quality of life, promote sustainable development and protect our environment.

SERVICE REQUIRED:

The warehouse building located at 55 Middleton Road, Cromer NSW is a multi-bay warehouse that is currently in operation by Northern Beaches Council and it's waste contractor (URM). The roof of the building contains asbestos corrugated roof sheeting that was damaged during recent storm event. As such the facility poses a health risk to the staff members who utilise the facility.

Northern Beaches Council (Council) invites tenders for the carrying out and completion of major works for Cromer Depot Asbestos Roof Replacement.

The works include;

- Engage a hygienist to prepare a Hazardous Substances Management Plan as required under Section 1.6.1 of Australian Standard AS 2601-2001. Prepare Safe Work Method Statements and Demolition Management Plan to meet the requirements of the Hazardous Substances Management Plan.

- Site establishment / dis-establishment in accordance with the Hazardous Substances Management Plan, SWMS and Demolition Management Plan.

- Removal and safe disposal of existing asbestos roof sheeting including all existing ventilation equipment, eaves gutters and downpipes. All materials are to be handled in accordance with the requirements of Australian Standard AS 2601-2001: Demolition of Structures

- Design and replacement of the roof cladding to meet current Australian Standards including new sheeting, cappings, new roof ventilation, translucent roof sheeting, safety mesh, insulation, eaves gutters and downpipes (down to hardstand level) to the roof.

- Design and installation of a safe roof access and restraint system to the new roof area.

SITE BRIEFING:

A pre-tender briefing (which may include a Site inspection) will be held at 9:30am AEST on 4 August 2022 at Gate A, 55 Middleton Road, Cromer NSW. Tenderers should ensure they review the quote documents and understand the scope of work before attending the briefing. (See Part A5 - Conditions of Tender for details).

LODGEMENT:

Submissions should be lodged in the electronic tender box or in the physical tender box at Northern Beaches Council, Civic Centre, 725 Pittwater Road, Dee Why, NSW 2099 by the time and date nominated. Late submissions may not be accepted.
