Tender Description
Request for Proposal (RFP) Architecture Services x 18 files
Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand | Te Toka Tumai Auckland (formerly Auckland DHB) provides health and disability services to more than half a million people living in Auckland City, Waiheke and Great Barrier Island. Te Whatu Ora also provides regional services to the residents of the Northern Region, and highly specialist national services to the whole of New Zealand.
Te Whatu Ora is seeking to relocate the Taylor Centre Community Mental Health Centre from its current leased premises to a purpose designed unit within an existing Te Whatu Ora owned building, located at 50 Grafton Rd. We are looking to design a suitable clinical space that will sit within the existing space on levels 1 & 2. The current building is in a great location adjacent to the Te Whatu Ora (Auckland City Hospital) campus, with stunning vistas across Auckland Domain.
As part of this opportunity, we are seeking to upgrade the building infrastructure to current standards suitable for long term occupation for the Taylor Centre and other Te Whatu Ora tenants. Both infrastructure works and internal refurbishment design will be closely linked to provide a facility that is modern, welcoming, pleasant, safe and energy efficient with underground parking affording tenants safe access.
Te Whatu Ora is looking for Proposals from Architects and Building Services consultants for the design, fit out and critical services upgrade of the building, 50 Grafton Rd.
We are looking for Consultants with expert collaborative planning and design skills to inform and deliver the complete design and project delivery. We seek to procure a healthcare architect, with suitable experience in community mental health facility design. A particular emphasis will be placed on engagement and relationship with Maori mental health services to ensure the design meets the Te Whatu Ora Te Tiriti requirements and ensures equity for clients. The architect will be required to progress the design through to construction, and oversee the fit out and project closeout and handover.
It is expected that the architect will work closely with the services design consultants engaged with 50 Grafton Road building infrastructure remediation. It is essential that both healthcare facility design and building infrastructure are closely linked and co-ordinated to provide a facility that is modern, welcoming, pleasant, safe and energy efficient affording all tenants safe access.
