Mansfield Shire Council is seeking to engage the services of an experienced and qualified consultant to carry out full detailed design, including cost estimates and contract documentation of the roundabout at Mansfield-Whitfield Road/Dead Horse Lane, Mansfield intersection.

A concept design previously done will be provided which still requires further refinement to consider the constraints.

The design work shall produce an economical design that satisfies the design requirements of DoT and to prepare engineering drawings and tender documents.

Outcomes from the work shall be documented in the form of Drawings and Reports.

Mansfield Shire Council and Department of Transport (DoT) have identified roads to be designated as a Heavy Vehicle Alterative Route (HVAR) for heavy vehicles to use to avoid travel through the central business district (CBD) of Mansfield Township. This project has been sub-divided into 2 packages HVAR Stage 1 and Stage 2. The Mansfield-Whitfield Road/Dead Horse Lane intersection has been identified as a safety issue and a roundabout has been identified as the preferred intersection treatment. There has been a concept plan that has been prepared previously that is required to be developed to full detailed design for DoT approval.
