Whispering Pines Estate Ltd are seeking expressions of interest from parties wishing to participate in a competitive sales process for their tree crop, only to harvest during the summer of 2022/2023.
Takapu Forest is a P.radiata forest, planted in 1997 with a total net stocked area of 47 hectares (approx.) Situated in a prime location, the mature forest is well situated to take advantage of export markets from Centreport Wellington.
It is envisaged harvesting could commence and be completed within a one-year timeframe.
- Approximately 47 ha 1997 P. radiata
- Medium to steep hill country suited to combined hauler and ground-based harvesting, or suitable tethered combinations.
- Excellent location as Takapu Forest is only 18 km from Centreport, and only 90kms via the new Transmission Gully motorway to Levin, or 90km via the Remutaka Hill to mills located in the Wairarapa.
- Some new roading will be needed to enable some harvest options, but access to existing public infrastructure already exists through the industrial property at the bottom of the block.
- A mixture of Low and Moderate ESC zones with no fish spawning streams within the forest boundary
- Some local authority consenting may be needed subject to planning requirements to utilize existing public roading infrastructure to access the state highway.
