Tender Description
1. Project Background
The Dubbo Christian School is upgrading its sports fields which currently consist of a general recreation area and a multipurpose field that services a number of sports including rugby, soccer, hockey, cricket and athletics. It includes a concrete cricket wicket. This upgrade will create two rectangular fields and a new cricket wicket while maintaining a general recreation space to focus on daily school activities and athletics and other activities.
The project designer is SportEng, a sports field specialist design consultancy and the works have been divided into two work packages:
1. Civil Works bulk excavation;
2. Drainage; irrigation; turf / landscaping, and cricket pitch.
The work packaging has been designed to separate the heavy plant & equipment works from the more technical trade works.
Significant investigation, planning and design services have been completed, including the following;
Geotechnical investigation and report
Soil testing
Potholing to determine the depth of the basalt rock underlay particularly import in regard to the ability to maintain a high-quality turf playing service, and drainage design
Civil, drainage, irrigation, and turf design
Technical specification.
2. Scope of Services
This contract includes the drainage, irrigation and turfing works required to create a high quality and durable set of playing fields, including the following:
Construction preliminaries
Stormwater drainage
Stormwater Drainage Sand Slits
Irrigation
Water Supply
In-situ concrete
Flexible Pavements
Playing surface profile rootzone sand
Playing surface profile reclaimed topsoil
Turf stolons
The project will be conducted under the provisions of a standard version of a NSW Government MW21 Procurement System for Construction Contract.
