Torres Shire Council is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified and experienced persons to undertake a Governance Project associated with the TRAWQ communities on Thursday Island.

This research will encompass an examination of population, financial and legal data and other related information. It is to be informed by a detailed understanding of and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and Ailan Kastom.

Its purpose is to prepare a detailed report and strategy for Council’s consideration that will lead to a coherent approach and strategy to best ensure the TRAWQ communities receive appropriate support, recognition, governance and funding. The purpose of the EOI is to establish a shortlist of candidates interested in tendering for the Project.
