Tender Description
Yarrabah Aboriginal Shire Council invites Quotations from suitably qualified respondents.
This project is to develop detailed designs, scope of works and costings for the revitalisation of the Yarrabah Foreshore. The work was identified in the Town Centre Yarrabah Master Plan (Dec 2019). This project will connect the newly constructed Jetty, to the Retail Centre and the rejuvenated Bishop Malcom Park.
The Foreshore Precinct establishes a place for both locals and tourists that will clearly promote Yarrabah's local indigenous culture. Located on Gunggandji land, the Foreshore Precinct and will deliver detailed planning for the construction of three major storyline walks:
• The Rainforest Storyline and Walk - from the Jetty to the Old People Cemetery (boardwalk and paved) approx. 1.5km
• The Foreshore Storyline and Walk - from the Boat Ramp to the end of the Foreshore (Muka Street) (paved -concrete aggregate) approx. 1.2km
• The History Storyline and Walk-from the Old People Cemetery approx. 0.6km
• Gateway and wayfinding signage for up to 12 identified sites
In addition, the proposed improvements may include landscaping, revegetation of dune areas, playground, event space, seating and exercise nodes.
The project is expected to commence in February 2023 and be completed by August 2023.
