A key action under the Queensland Trade and Investment Strategy 2022-2032 is to develop and implement a ‘Global Friends of Queensland 2032 Program’. The Program will develop a global network of ‘friends’ – including expats, alumni, allies, high profile individuals, athletes – to tell Queensland’s trade and investment story in the lead up to the Brisbane Olympic Games in 2032.
The network will foster connections and opportunities for Queensland businesses in international markets and encourage expats and alumni to share the Brisbane 2032 journey with their networks. It will also ensure the diversity of Queensland’s cultures, experiences and creativity is reflected to international markets.
Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to undertake a scoping study to identify and analyse best practice in comparable programs worldwide. It is envisaged that the study will provide recommendations that will inform the design and delivery of the Global Friends of Queensland 2032 Program to ensure that the Program effectively builds and nurtures a global ‘friends’ community that delivers tangible benefits for Program participants and key stakeholders.
