Tender Description

Biosis is undertaking an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment (ACHA) for the Maroota Central Civil Sandstone Quarry at 4773 Old Northern Road, Maroota, New South Wales (NSW) (Lot 1 DP 609224), within the Hornsby Local Government Area on behalf of RW Corkery and Central Civil (Sam Rosek, Email: sam@rwcorkery.com).

The project will be assessed as State Significant Development under Part 4.36 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.

In accordance with the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Consultation Requirements for Proponents 2010 (DECCW 2010). Biosis invites Aboriginal people who hold cultural knowledge in determining the significance of Aboriginal object(s) and/or places in the vicinity of the above area to register their interest in a process of community consultation.

The purpose of Aboriginal community consultation is to provide sufficient information for the assessment of Aboriginal cultural heritage values, and to assist the Secretary of the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment in their consideration and determination of the application.
