Tender Description
EOI for a series of battery electric and hydrogen bus and coach trials, within various Regional NSW locations.
The NSW Government is progressing the transition towards zero emission buses in the regions by calling on industry to submit their proposals in an EOI for battery electric and hydrogen bus and coach trials. The NSW ZEB transition plan will see all buses in Outer Metro regions transition to zero emissions technology by 2040 and regional NSW by 2047.
These trials will allow TfNSW to assess different technology solutions and determine the best solution for the transition to Zero Emission Buses (ZEBs) in Regional NSW, while also understanding best approaches to develop local capability and capacity. The trials will provide opportunities for operators, customers, and manufacturers to trial these vehicles in their unique operating environments while generating key learnings and data to support future transition of ZEBs in Regional NSW.
Regional Zero Emission Bus Trials will consist of:
• Category 1 Battery Electric Bus (BEB)
• Category 2 BEB
• Category 4 BEB
• Hydrogen Fuel Cell Bus (Hydrogen Bus) and
• Hydrogen Fuel Cell Coach (Hydrogen Coach)
