Since 2016, Primary Health Networks (PHNs) have been funded to develop regional service models for young people presenting with severe and complex mental health issues, known as Youth Enhanced Services (YES). Orygen has been funded to provide expert advice and guidance to PHNs to support this work.

In September 2021, all Youth Enhanced Services were reviewed in our region. In consideration of the findings, the Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN made the decision to take a proactive approach to recommissioning the Youth Enhanced Services to further enhance and improve the health outcomes for youth aged 12 to 25 in our region.

Contracted service provider(s) will prioritise and support young people (as well as their families and carers) by providing responsive outreach and place based psychological therapy and case management as part of a GP-led shared care plan, to ensure a holistic and collaborative approach to better mental health outcomes for youth in our region with access to psychiatry when appropriate.

The key target group for this tender is young people aged 12 to 25 years, with or at risk of complex/severe mental health conditions, who can be managed in a primary care setting.
