Alpine Resorts Victoria trading as Mt Buller & Mt Stirling Alpine Resorts (ARV) is seeking consultancy services to develop a Concept Plan for the Central Village Precinct (CVP). The Plans are to include general arrangement plans, massing and building form to inform the re-development the CVP, incorporating a new transit hub and vastly expanded public refuge facilities.
ARV intends to submit a Business Case to the Victorian Government for the development of Mt Buller’s CVP.
This project is to develop a concept plan that can be costed for incorporation into the Business Case. Commercial development opportunities (primarily apartments, basement car parking, retail/food & beverage and experiences/attractions) are to be contemplated and scoped to contribute to the realisation of the Concept Plan. ARV has identified a key priority of the Plan is the relocation / redesign of the existing Transit Hub as the first stage of any eventual redevelopment.
The objectives of the redevelopment of the CVP include:
- Year-round visitation growth,
- Managing capacity and visitors within ‘off-peak’, ‘normal’ and ‘peak’ periods,
- Leveraging Melbourne’s population growth to increase visitation and length of stay,
- Diversifying year-round activities/attractions,
- Climate change resilience, and
- Strengthen the village “heart” via the co-location of activities in a centralised precinct.
