Design and Documentation has been undertaken to 50% completion. The Principal Contractor is required to complete the Design, Document and Construct.
The scope of works predominantly includes refurbishing the existing pool, which is a 25m 'L' shaped "Myrtha" swimming pool, complete with water features, a balance tank and water filtration plant. The pool consists of a 5-lane swimming area which is approximately 12x25m, and a leisure area which is approximately 15x7m. The water depth varies from 1500mm at the deepest part of the swimming area to 900mm at the shallowest part of the swimming pool, and from 0 m to 900 mm in the play area. The pool has always been a central part of the community and provides social and health benefits to the users.
In addition to pool, refurbishment works are also required to the associated facilities, including full replacement of plant and equipment, refurbishment of the plant room, refurbishment and extension of the existing shade structure, refurbishment of the amenities block, full replacement of the existing office demountable, replacement of the shade sails, installation of lighting and security systems, as well as landscaping works.
The Design Team who have completed the current design works will be will be novated to the successful Tenderer upon commencement of the Contract, and will continue to develop the design through to 100% completion. The successful tender will be required to enter into a Deed of Novation with the existing Design Team and West Daly Regional Council.
