Tender Description
The Powerhouse is one of Australia’s oldest and most important cultural institutions. It is Australia’s only museum of applied arts and sciences with an exceptional collection of approximately 500,000 objects. The Powerhouse is undertaking significant renewal through the creation of Powerhouse Parramatta, expansion of Powerhouse Castle Hill, the digitisation of Powerhouse Collection, and the renewal of Powerhouse Ultimo.
The Powerhouse renewal is focused on redefining museums and with a $1.4 billion dollar investment by the NSW Government is the largest cultural project in Australia.
The Powerhouse Climate Action Plan 2022-25 commits to generating onsite renewable energy to support the target to achieve net zero carbon building operations by 2025. The Powerhouse is one of Australia’s oldest and most important cultural institutions. It is Australia’s only museum of applied arts and sciences with an exceptional collection of approximately 500,000 objects. The institution is currently in a state of renewal, with the establishment of Powerhouse Parramatta, the renewal of Powerhouse Ultimo, the expansion of Powerhouse Castle Hill, the digitisation of the Collection and the ongoing operation of Sydney Observatory.
The Powerhouse is seeking expressions of interest from an appropriately qualified and experienced solar photovoltaic system designer to propose a system that will maximise the opportunity to install a renewable energy solution at Powerhouse (PH) Castle Hill (Museums Discovery Centre). Powerhouse Castle Hill is located at 172 Showground Road, Castle Hill. The consultant may engage additional sub-consultants to contribute to the process with their scope and fee to be included as part of the response to this brief.
The Powerhouse will undertake a two-stage process to identify an appropriately qualified and experienced solar photovoltaic system designer for the renewable energy solution. This Expression of Interest (EOI) is the first stage of the process.
