Tender Description

Lismore City Council is constructing a hardstand area at the Lismore Recycling and Recovery Centre and is requesting contractors to provide a lump sum quote to complete the scope of works. The hardstand area is to be constructed at the southern end of the Material Recycling Facility (MRF) to assist with vehicle access and minor flash flooding issues on the site.

The proposed hardstand area has been designed to allow for ease of access for heavy vehicles including semi-trailers. The hardstand area is designed to drain the catchment of the MRF operations facility area and divert flows to nearby sediment basins. Lismore Council is seeking the services of a competent and experienced contractor to complete the project within a timely manner.

The selected Contractor will be responsible for the construction of the concrete hardstand access slab. The slab is to be constructed to the design in drawing set ‘J2301 – MRF HV PAVEMENT’ in attached document J50.9-1020-RFQ-02 MRF HV PAVEMENT (90% IFT V2). Lismore City Council are trialling a green concrete product where the sand in the concrete mix is replaced with crushed and cleaned glass sand. The green concrete material may be supplied by LCC to be used as the concrete material in this engagement, pending trial results. The Contractor is to provide a rate for supply of concrete in the case the green concrete trials do not meet specification. There is an existing pit in the proposed slab footprint, however it will be raised and prepared such that the pavement is only required to be abutted to the cover/grate. The earthworks drawings ‘2022-035 Lismore Recycle & Recovery Centre’ in attached document J50.9-1020-RFQ-03 MRF CIVIL DRAWING RP22-035 details it’s position and orientation on Sheet ‘RD2’.

Contractors are encouraged to visit site by organising a site visit with the RFQ contact.
