Intergenerational Program - Request for Proposal
Tender ID: 522928
Tender Details
Tender Description
As part of the Australia
Governments response to the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety,
funding has been provided to Primary Health Networks to undertake and commission
dedicated activities that address the issues identified at the interface
between primary health care and aged care systems. Part of the scope of this
funding is dedicated to Early Intervention (EI) initiatives that support better
health, wellbeing, and access to primary care and aged care services for older
people.
As part of the EI initiatives, WHL is seeking a suitable service provider(s) to
deliver one or more Intergenerational Program(s) for people living in the
community aged 65 years and over (or aged 50 years and over for Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander people) within the Nepean Blue Mountains region which
includes the Penrith, Hawkesbury, Blue Mountains and Lithgow local government
areas.
Generally, Intergenerational Programs bring together older adults and children
or young people for group-based sessions that are usually held weekly, over a
defined period of time. Activities for these sessions can range from play-based
interactions to purposeful learning experiences, with the objective being to
enrich the learning, behavioural, health and socialisation outcomes of children
or young people and older adults.
This RFP is asking providers to bring together children aged 3-5 years with
older adults. The Intergenerational Program can be designed based on a model
that the provider chooses e.g. music programs, pre-school visit programs,
dementia support programs etc.
