The Shire of Menzies (Shire) invites Tenders from suitably experienced Civil contractors to undertake civil works to upgrade and repair sections of the Tjuntjuntjara Access Route. The route is remote and provides access to the Tjuntjuntjarra community. The route is 382km in length and heads north from the Trans Access Road at Kitchener along the Kitchener Cutline Road (192km) within the City of Kalgoorlie - Boulder to the Connie Sue Road (69km) within the Shire of Menzies and then east along the Tjunjuntjarra Road (121km) to Tjuntjuntjara.

The proposed contract is a 1 year AS4902 contract with 4 one year options for extension subject to funding allocation and contractor performance. The proposed project is to upgrade the access road to an all-weather trafficable unsealed road pavement 6m wide on Kitchener Cutline Rd and 8 m wide on Tjununtjuntjarra Road over 5 years and to undertake selective repair of blowouts while sections await formal construction. In many locations the current road is simply an unpaved track. It is proposed to commence work before the end of this financial year.

Although some of the route is located within the City of Kalgoorlie - Boulder, the Shire of Menzies is managing the entire project.
