WoolProducers has been awarded a grant under the Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry’s Agricultural Trade and Market Access Cooperation program and is seeking consultancy services to undertake an analysis of diversified early-stage processing of Australian wool.
This project seeks to pursue the recommendations and findings from the recently released report “Ensuring a sustainable future for Australia’s wool supply chain” (Phase 1 report). Based on the positive findings of the Phase 1 report, this project seeks to undertake commercial and policy analysis research and document an investment prospectus in the form of a detailed and robust business investment case / roadmap that clearly identifies pathways (commercial and policy) to enable diversification of the supply chains upon which the Australian wool industry is so heavily reliant. In doing this the positive impacts relating to economic outcomes and trade risk mitigation identified in the Phase 1 report will be realised.
WoolProducers requires the successful consultant to deliver an investment prospectus in the form of a detailed and robust business investment case / roadmap. The work will be undertaken as three distinct (yet complementary and linked) components:
i. Development of an investment ready business case for the development of domestic early-stage wool processing operations.
ii. Detailed assessment of offshore priority locations for the development of early-stage wool processing operations (Bangladesh, Indonesia, India, Vietnam). This will include integration with domestic (Australian) early-stage wool processing operations.
iii. Detailed action plan for presentation to the Commonwealth and State Governments on actions required to stimulate development, expansion and diversification of early-stage wool processing.
