The Powerhouse is one of Australia’s oldest and most important cultural institutions. It is Australia’s only Museum of applied arts and Sciences with an exceptional collection of approximately 500,000 objects. The Powerhouse is undertaking significant renewal through the creation of Powerhouse Parramatta, the expansion of Powerhouse Castle Hill, the digitisation of the Powerhouse Collection, and the renewal of Powerhouse Ultimo.

The Powerhouse renewal is focused on redefining museums and with a $1.4 billion dollar investment by the NSW Government is the largest cultural project in Australia.

The Powerhouse seeks to appoint a Commercial Strategy Advisor/Consultant to collaborate with the Powerhouse Commercial and Operations directorates to define operating models, secure operators for the Powerhouse Parramatta Food and Beverage Retail program through an Expression of Interest process, and provide assistance to develop the strategy, structure, and resources to achieve the commercial program outcomes and revenue targets.

The successful advisor/consultant will be engaged to collaborate with the Powerhouse to develop and deliver:

• An Expression of Interest strategy, brief, market sounding, and execution of the process to determine the operating model and operator for the Powerhouse Parramatta retail, food, and beverage program.
• A ‘Venue for Hire Sales and Marketing strategy and assistance in developing the organisational structure and resources required to achieve operational and commercial objectives.

The work will be developed in response to creative, functional, and operational briefs developed by the Powerhouse in collaboration with project partners, Infrastructure NSW, Lendlease, and other Powerhouse consultants.
