Whitsunday Regional Council (Council) seeks to expand the existing Raw Water Supply ‘off-take’ works to provide for operational redundancy and optimisation of a robust and resilient raw water supply scheme supplying the Proserpine and Bowen Water Treatment Plants.

Works under this contract are to:
a) investigate at up to fifteen locations (SP1);
b) developing at least four and up to eight new raw water supply bores capable of 20-25L/s continuous production capacity (SP2); and
c) completion of up to 2 infield monitoring and aquifer conditioning bores about each completed raw water supply production bore (SP2).
Drilling must be undertaken in accordance with Australian Drilling Industry accepted practice as stated within the National Uniform Contractors Licensing Committee Fourth (or later) Edition of
‘Minimum Construction Requirements for Water Bores in Australia’.

The Scope of Works includes:
d) Separable Portion 1 (SP1): Investigation Drilling and Test Pump Works (to be completed by 30th January 2024); and
e) Separable Portion 2 (SP2):
i. A: Production Drilling and Test Pump Works (to be completed by 30th January 2025; and
ii. B: Aquifer Monitoring/Conditioning Bores (to be completed by 30th April 2025).

The Contractor must complete all works associated with SP1 under the Lump Sum provisions of the Contract. Subsequent to Council’s assessment of the SP1 outcomes and recommendations, the extent of the SP2 works will be determined and finalised utilising rates included in the Pricing Schedules.

SP2 works may be ordered in stages to accommodate the availability of the Contractor.

In addition to the nominated sites in Clause 4 Site Locations below, Council may direct works to additional sites within similar proximity to the Water Treatment Plant as either a substitution of the existing scope or as a variation.
