During February and March 2022, the community of Lockyer Valley was impacted by a weather event that led to extensive flooding across the region. Significant impacts occurred in low-lying areas across the region during both events.

After the flooding events of 2022, a joint initiative was announced by the Australian and Queensland Governments to help people living in Queensland recover and become more resilient to future flooding events by introducing the $741 million Resilient Homes Fund (the Fund).

Lockyer Valley Regional Council’s involvement in the Fund falls under the Voluntary Home Buy Back Program (VBBP), where the council’s role involves purchasing, demolishing, rehabilitating, and rezoning the qualified properties to green space.

Council is seeking interested Contractors to engage on a Preferred Supplier Arrangement.
