Murray PHN seeks submissions from suitably qualified General Practices to establish and operate a Commonwealth funded Urgent Care Clinic in Albury.
The UCC initiative seeks to reduce demand on hospital emergency departments and increase access to care for primary care type presentations. UCCs are GP-led services which are partnered with an emergency department and provide care for people of all ages with low acuity conditions (for example, mild infections, fractures, and burns). UCCs provide a viable alternative for people with conditions that require urgent attention but not an emergency response. They are free for people of all ages (with or without a Medicare card) and are open in the after-hours period.
It is anticipated the activity will commence three weeks from contract signing and will operate for 12 months.
