The Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Management Training Program (ACHMTP) is an education and training initiative for Aboriginal Victorians with a role and interest in the management, preservation, enhancement and administration of their unique cultural heritage. The ACHMTP was developed by the Victorian Government as part of the implementation program accompanying the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 (the Act). The training comprises of an introductory three-day workshop followed by a comprehensive accredited Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Management (ACHM) Certificate IV level training program designed around compliance and best practice in the cultural heritage management industry.  

An evaluation is needed to ensure that new outcomes are captured and that lessons learnt from the previous ten years are incorporated into the ACHMTP. Additionally, the education market has dramatically changed since the ACHMTP was last evaluated. DPC will use the evaluation to inform future resourcing recommendations.
