The scope of services to be carried out as part as of this Open Pit Contract Mining package include the following broad areas:

• supply, mobilisation and maintenance of mining equipment and personnel.

• establishment and maintenance of mining facilities

• preliminary works for clearing, grubbing, topsoil removal and haul road construction.

• drilling and blasting including supply of explosives and presplitting.

• loading and hauling of ore to the ROM pad and other stockpiles.

• loading and hauling of waste materials to waste dumps.

• rehandle of ore from the ROM pad stockpiles to the processing plant crusher.

• pit dewatering.

• waste dump profiling and topsoiling; and

• miscellaneous dayworks activities.

The project is situated in generally flat terrain and comprises three large open pits that will be mined in a series of stages. The ore will be delivered to a new processing plant or low-grade stockpiles, while the waste will be deposited in large waste dumps adjacent to each of the pits. The intended mining method will be undertaken by a mining contractor utilizing conventional hydraulic excavators and dump trucks.

The full request for quotation will also require that the contractor assess the requirements for the total mine life and provide pricing associated with the total mine life. Specific scope requirements will be communicated to suitable Contractors via an Invitation to Tender.
