The Greater Shepparton City Council has one position vacant open for independent external member of its Audit and Risk Management Committee and invites an expression of interest for this position.

Risk Managment committee is an independent advisory committee to the Council and consists of two Councilors and four external members appointed by the Council.

The Audit and Risk Management Commitee meets virtually via MS Teams five times per year, with an allowance paid for attendance. Membership appointments are for a three-year term.

The primary objective of the Commitee is to assist the Council in fulfilling its governance and oversight responsibilities in areas including:

• External reporting (including financial reports, the performance statement and the annual report)
• External and internal Audit,
• Risk Management and internal control
• Compliance and Fraud and Corruption

It is beneficial fox members to have legal, financial or general business skills.
