Metro Tasmania invites Tenders for the supply of A Request for Proposal (RFP) to procure an experienced consultant to develop a Metro Property Master Plan.

Metro owns three bus depots located in Hobart, Launceston and Burnie with capacity for 150, 48 and 14 buses respectively. All depots include an administration building, workshop, fuelling and driver amenities. Hobart and Launceston depots have automatic bus wash facilities.

In addition to its Hobart depot, Metro leases four 'satellite yards' in the Greater Hobart area for overnight bus storage of 10+ buses. Metro's Launceston depot is the sole site used for operations and bus storage in Launceston and is heritage listed. The Burnie bus depot is the primary site used for operations and bus storage in Burnie, with three buses stored at satellite yards under lease.

Metro is building a modern and sustainable business through improved strategic asset planning and management will be central to delivering Metro's vision and mission. To assist in achieving this, Metro requires a Property Master Plan to be developed for each of its three networks.

The potential impact of zero emissions vehicle technology and other transportation strategies and initiatives (e.g. new service areas, Park and Ride facilities, a new Hobart transit centre, northern Hobart transport corridor, on-demand transportation) means that the function and configuration of Metro's non-fleet assets is under active consideration.

It is intended that the Property Master Plan will identify options and make recommendations for Metro's non-fleet assets over 10 and 20 year horizons, broadly in regard to:

a) Location

b) Utilisation

c) Ownership
