Tender Description

The Shire of Kulin requires a suitable qualified contractor for the installation of culvert pipes in 3 locations for the upcoming financial year 2023/24, locations are as follows,

 Fence Rd North from SLK 0.00 to 7.00,

 Kulin Holt Rock Rd SLK 49.80 to 64.80,

 Yealering Rd Corrigin Kulin Rd Intersection

Culvert Installation Requirements

Fence Rd Nth   - Various Locations

 11 full-length pipes 375mm x 12 metres,

 Kulin Holt Rock Rd   - Various Locations

 8 full length pipes 375mm x 12 metres, with headwalls

 1 full length pipe 450mm x 12 metres with headwalls

 1 full length double pipe 375mm x 12 metres with headwalls

 1 full length double pipe 450mm x 12 metres with headwalls

 1 full length 3 barrel pipe 375mmx 12 metres with headwalls

 1 full length 4 barrel pipe 450mm x 12 metres with headwalls

 1 full length box culvert 600mm x 600mm x (2.4m) 12 metres with headwalls.

Yealering Rd Corrigin Rd Intersection

 1 full-length box culvert 600mm x 300mm 2.4m with headwalls

 1 pipe,1 x 300mm extension on both sides of existing pipe with headwalls

 1 pipe 1 x 300mm extension on both sides of existing pipe with headwalls

 3 pipes 2 x 375mm, 1 x 300mm extension on both sides of existing pipe with headwalls.

The Contractor will be required to undertake the following,

 Install pipes in locations supplied by the Shire in various locations to replace existing pipes.

 ALL pipes must be laid on a bed of aggregate. Aggregate supply be Shire.

 All pipes must be backfilled with stabilised material supplied by the Shire.

 Backfill must be to the level of the existing road level and must be set before opening to traffic.

 Level and Screed stabilised back to cover the entire length of pipe to the headwall.

 Install headwalls to each pipe supplied by Shire.

 Patching of each headwall around the pipe to form a watertight seal.

 Spoil must be removed and disposed of offsite in an area designated by the Shire.

 Clear the inlet and outlet of each pipe to allow water to flow freely.

Additional Information

 Traffic management is to be supplied by the Shire.

 Shire to supply fuel

 Shire to supply pipes and headwalls.

 Pipes are 6m lengths and 375mm in diameter.

 Headwalls are concrete.

 Pipes are black corrugated from Enviropipes.

 Pipe extension will be Class 4 concrete.

 Contractor may choose to work in more than one location if Traffic Management permit.

 Site Visit recommended.
