MetService operates a highly complex and technology environment consisting of over 200 bespoke applications and systems that have evolved over a long period of time. This has resulted in a situation where the environment requires an efficient resourcing solution.
To address this a common digital platform (CDP) initiative has been established to build a foundation upon which a modern suite of applications and systems can be built. On top of this, digital product and services portfolios have been established to simplify and modernise the product and service landscape.
To successfully transform the application landscape and deliver customer centricity will require additional software development capability and capacity beyond what MetService staff are able to provide. Additionally, MetService will potentially looking at international suppliers who are competitively priced and are a good fit with requirements. MetService intend to have this new development capability work alongside our existing development teams to jointly develop products, leveraging our in-house speciality scientific knowledge.
