The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA), part of the Department of Health, is intending to release a Request for Tender for the delivery of Rural and Regional Public Sector Residential Aged Care Services (PSRACS) Revitalisation Strategy Stage 1: Orbost project.

The project comprises of:

• the construction and commissioning of a new 38 bed residential complex at the Orbost Regional Health (ORH) site in Orbost, which will be operated by ORH. The new facility will replace the existing Waratah Lodge and Lochiel House,
• the full demolition of Lochiel House in two stages,
• the refurbishment and extension work to the existing dialysis area of the ORH.

The facility will incorporate outcomes from the recent Royal Commission into Aged Care and deliver outstanding resident amenity that promotes positive aging.

The project is to be procured in one package of works as follows:

Main Works construction and refurbishment including support services, landscaping and road upgrades.
