EQL Rocklea Training Facility

Proposed Redevelopment Scope

The Rocklea Training facility is the largest of EQL’s training facilities in the state of Queensland. However, many of the current buildings on site are end-of-life and inefficient.

The scope of the proposed redevelopment includes:

  • Construct Stage 1 (new building and associated car parking with an estimated construction period of 52 weeks)
  • Relocation of training out of Building 3 and into a new building (by separate contracts)
  • Construct Stage 2 (demolition of Building 4 and partial demolition of Building 3, and additional car parking with an estimated construction period of 20 weeks

It has been determined that Energex training is to continue on the site throughout the Major construction contract. Please refer to the attached proposed site plans for further details.

Proposed construction milestones are as follows:

  • Nov ’23-Nov ’24, construct stage 1 (new building and associated car parking)
  • Dec ‘24-Jan ‘25, relocate training into a new building (during training recess)
  • Feb ‘25-May ‘25, construct stage 2 (demolition and additional car parking)

The Tender pack, scope, and response schedules will be available from EQL's online tendering tool (SAP Ariba) shortly. Energy Queensland is seeking pre-registration from suitably licenced and experienced Contractors with demonstrated building construction experience greater than $10 Million to pre-register their interests following the below instructions.

How to Participate

Tenderers will be required to register with SAP Ariba by sending an email to the nominated Contract Officer belinda.crawford@energyq.com.au. It is recommended that Tenderers who wish to participate in the tender start the registration early as the registration process can take some time.

The email subject should contain the above tender title including the SR number and the body of the email should contain the following;

  • Business entity name
  • Business email address eg. Tenders@companyname.com (Please note the Ariba system does not recognise @hotmail, @live or @outlook email domains so plan accordingly when supplying contact email addresses.)
  • Postal address
  • ABN
  • Contact name
  • Phone number

When registration is complete and the Sourcing Event opens, Tenderers will be invited to respond and will be able to access the EQL SAP Ariba realm via a link contained in the email notification. Please note this link will expire within 24 hours.

Tenderers must accept the prerequisite Bidder Agreement under the ‘Review and Accept Prerequisites’ tab in Ariba to ensure all system-generated notifications are received. This includes but is not limited to, Content updates and changes to Event Timing. Further information on participating in sourcing events is located at: https://www.energyq.com.au/suppliers.

If the Tenderer elects to submit a response, they must do so using SAP Ariba only. Submissions provided via email or tendering portal will not be considered for evaluation.
