Tender Description

Requirement/Scope of Works

The categories of reagent supply are as follows. It should be noted that the scope doesn’t require delivery of said reagent to WMO. The logistics supplier will be responsible for loading the reagent and delivering to site. WMO requires a supply of both solid reagents that will be mixed on-site and pre-mixed solutions. Below is a list of the required reagents.

Solids:

• Flocculant – Anionic flocculant. The product is to be provided as a solid powder that will be mixed on site to the necessary strength through an automated mixing system.

• Lime – Quicklime. The quicklime is to be provided as a solid, with the lime being slaked on site.

• MgO Depressant – CMC depressant. As per the flocculant, the solid powder will be mixed on-site to the target strength in an automated mixing system.

Solutions:

• Acid – HCl or Sulphamic. The acid will not be used as pH modification but as a filter cloth cleaner during the filtration process. The acid is to be provided as 33% solution.

• Chelating Agent – TETA. TETA will be used in the flotation circuit. The TETA is to be supplied as a 50% solution.

• Collector – PAX. PAX will be the main collector for the flotation circuit. It will be provided as a 22% solution.

• Depressant – Sodium Sulphite. Sodium Sulphite will be used in the flotation circuit as a pyrite depressant. It will be provided as a 20% solution.

• Frother – MIBC. For use in the flotation circuit. The frother will be provided as a 100% strength solution

• Self-Heating Agent – Lignosulphonate. This will be used as a self-heating mitigation measure for the nickel concentrate. It will be provided as a 30% solution.

Contractors/suppliers are requested to advise if they can provide the goods and services for each category of reagent supply in their response to this Expression of Interest (EOI). Where possible the Principal will look to group the categories.

Further Technical Information (if applicable)

The WMO is a highly unique flowsheet for a copper/nickel processing plant relative to other similar operations within Australia.

The process is a dry grind undertaken through vertical roller mills. The flotation is done through bulk and separation flowsheet rather than the more common sequential flotation flowsheet.

With the extreme remoteness of the asset and the drive to minimize putting people in harm's way, many of the reagents are requested to be supplied as pre-mixed solutions. The processing plant has been designed to only allow the mixing of three solids reagents – flocculant, MgO depressant, and lime. All the others are to be transferred  directly into storage tanks for use in the process.
