Heat Pump Supply and Installation - Seymour Sports & Aquatic Centre
Tender ID: 534072
Tender Details
Tender Description
Located approximately 100km North of Melbourne, Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre (SSAC) is an aquatic facility operating a 25m indoor heated pool, and a separate 15m toddler’s pool, along with other amenities.
Both the 25m and leisure pool are currently heated indirectly from the existing gas-fired condensing boiler. A plate heat exchanger is used to bring the temperature down from around 70°C in the heating hot water loop to 35 to 40°C in the pool heating loop.
Mitchell Shire Council is seeking the supply and installation of one (1) 180kw Air to water heat pump to maximise the use of renewable energy and prioritise energy efficiency through this project. It is Council’s goal to gradually transition this site towards an all-electric facility, beginning with the installation of this AS air-cooled heat pump. Electrification upgrades eliminating or reducing natural gas usage helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions due to the ability to offset electrical energy through renewable sources such as rooftop solar. Consequently, this design project aligns with council’s Environmentally Sustainable Design Policy for Council Buildings by proposing electrified upgrades for natural gas assets within SSAC.
