Brisbane South PHN is currently seeking to procure a service provider/s to establish and implement satellites in the Redlands and Logan Central areas of the Brisbane south catchment region. The successful provider will be in a position to commence service consultation and co-design for the Head to Health satellites from December 2023 and to open the doors to consumers from May 2024. Organisations may apply to deliver one or both satellites. All Head to Health Services in the Brisbane South PHN region will link as part of a coordinated network.

Redlands and Logan areas were identified as sites for the Head to Health satellites due to the high demand for mental health, suicide prevention and AOD supports in these areas and the difficulties experienced by current services in responding to the increasing demand. Current information and data confirm the need within the identified regions. The existing mental and AOD service structure is complex, fragmented and lacking coordination. Data indicates strong population growth, particularly in the Logan area and pockets of significant socio-economic disadvantage within both regions. Transport to and from Brisbane City to access services from these regions can be challenging, especially for those residents living on the South Moreton Bay Islands (SMBI).
