Tender Description

WMP-CON-226 Northern Bore Field Water Supply System Detailed Design and Construction

Procurement Route

OZ Minerals Musgrave Operations Pty Ltd (the Principal) requires the services of a suitably qualified and resourced Contractor to design, supply, install and commission a water supply system for the West Musgrave Project (WMP), the Northern Bore Field Water Supply System.

Requirement/Scope of Works

The WMP will involve the mining of the Nebo and Babel copper and nickel deposits as individual open pits. The mine will require approximately 7.5GL/a (238L/s) water supply over a mine life of 26 years. Construction, commissioning, and early operation water demands will be supplied from bore dewatering systems at the Nebo pit. Long term water supply will be obtained from the Northern Bore Field (delivered under this scope), located about 40km North-east of the mine site. The Principal has completed a Reference Design for the Northern Borefield Water Supply System.

The following deliverables are provided with this note for information:

1. WM-5140-PRO-PFD-0001: System Process Flow Diagram (PFD); and

2. WM-5140-ENG-LAY-0001: System Layout Plan.

The Reference Design is being updated (by others) to mitigate against some environmental constraints as follows:

   • Realignment of pipe routes upstream of the transfer pump station

   • Reduction of the pipeline corridor; and

   • Use of buried pipeline installation as opposed to above ground installation in previous design.

The Contractor will be required to develop the reference design to Issued-for-Construction level and to construct the works under this scope.

The scope includes detailed design, supply, construction, installation and commissioning of the following:

1. 19km bore field collector pipeline, valves, and fittings. This will nominally consist of buried DN250.

   – DN630 HDPE PN 12.5 pipeline. Pipe selection will be adjusted subject to hydraulic assessments.

2. Transfer Pump Station nominally consisting of:

   a. Two (2) off 1.2 ML roofed lined steel collector water tanks; and

   b. Three (3) off 75 kW centrifugal transfer pumps and ancillary pipework, instrumentation, and fittings. Nominally the pumps will be Southern Cross, ISO 2858 model 250x 200-315

3. 20km Transfer Pipeline, valves and fittings from Transfer Pump Station to raw water storage dam at the Mineral Processing Plant. This will nominally consist of buried DN630 HDPE PN 12.5 pipeline. Pipe selection will be adjusted subject to hydraulic assessments.

4. 17 raw water supply bores, including design, selection, installation and commissioning of the following:

   a. 17 submersible bore pump sets; preliminary indications are that pumps will be Grundfos’ SP77-12 submersible bore pumps or similar.

   b. Two (2) sets of complete and interchangeable spare bore pumps complete with discharge valve, riser, adaptor, motor shroud, full length tested submersible cabling and termination kits

   c. Bore headworks, riser, security cable. Headworks shall include instrumentation for flow and pressure measurements and all valving and interconnecting piping for safe operation and                maintenance of the equipment.

   d. Local control panel. Scope includes control instrumentation, typically: a pressure, conductivity and level sensors and transmitters and flow meter.

5. Power and fibre optic will be reticulated to all bores in a different scope. This scope will include design and installation of all works from a low voltage (415V) terminal at a kiosk located at each of the bores and transfer station to the point of use.

6. SCADA and telemetry systems supply and programming for safe and reliable operation of the system.

7. Supply, site installation and commissioning of water supply scheme equipment, and associated supporting equipment and infrastructure, including provision of training in operation/maintenance requirements. equipment to complete the works including supervision, tools, plant / machinery, site survey, testing and reporting.

9. Provide shop drawings for all bespoke equipment and pipe spools

10. Deliver all required design documentation and drawings; and

11. Complete all design and safety workshops. This is to include facilitating and documenting a HAZOP workshop for the works.
