The Contractor shall undertake all works associated with the control and removal of willows in accordance with this specification and any site-specific drawings. The scope of works to be executed consists of:

• Site preparation including access arrangements

• Removal of 3.5 hectares (approx.) of willow and associated burning

• Inspection of all work areas post willow removal and the management of maintenance work to remove any willow regrowth

• Maintenance of willow regrowth, total eradication of stumps and seedlings. Once within a 9 - 12-month period post works as specified.

Removal of all willows on site (cut and paint stumps & burning mass on site), leaving root balls in the waterway unless otherwise guided by the CMA.

A maintenance period of 12 months applies to the work of this contract. This is specific to the willow survival rate post works; a retreatment of the willow stumps and seedlings is required as part of this contract. A one time follow up run will be required, in the Summer Months following the removal (ie. Summer 24/25)

Works are to take place over summer 23/24 and removal work has to be completed by April 2024, maintenance phase will be completed by April 2025.
